I have been using Find a Grave for a few years but only became a member in 2021. It started as a tool for my genealogy research and has evolved into more. I try to give back to this wonderful tool & community when I'm able.

My roots are in Beloit, WI where I was born and raised, even though I no longer live there. My 4x great-grandfather was Nathan Gaston (id# 83308254), who was a pioneer manufacturer in Beloit. He built the first manufacturing plant, building scales. He & his wife Anna Battain had the first (& only) house on Beloit's west side. Where it stood is now Gaston Road. He was chairman of the town committee when the first railroad came to Beloit. Gaston Elementary school is named for him.
