Hi my name is Brian Hagerty and I'm searching for information of the ancestors of my great-great grandfather, James Patrick Hegarty from Roscommon, Ireland. James Patrick Hegarty was born on April 5, 1840 in Roscommon Ireland. He immigrated to America in 1851 and became a US Citizen in 1854. Upon the outbreak of the civil war, he served in the Union Army from 1861 to 1865 being a member of the 3rd Wisconsin Cavalry.
I'm also searching for information on my Mayflower ancestors who were Quakers and traveled from New York and settled in Adrian, Michigan about 1835. Specifically, the Crane, Hoag, Irish, Myrick and Peck families. My 2nd great- grandfather, Elwood Irish, was born about 1850 in Adrian, Michigan, on my mother's side. Elwood Irish was a Mayflower descendant through his mother, Harriet Peck (to Isaac Allerton) and his father, Frederick Irish (to George Soule).
Surnames on my mother's side are Allerton, Crane, Cushman, Folger, Foster, Franklin, Hoag, Irish, Latimer, Maddock, O'Donnell, Peck, Soule, and West. Surnames on my father's side are Doyle, Hegarty, McCoy and Wilson.
