Bio

I have been the "keeper of family things" and have been passed so many wonderful items from my ancestors .. and I'm now discovering the enjoyment of doing research on my very broad family. I was fortunate enough to be passed a partially completed tree going back numerous generations before the internet was invented - someone before me had already done the very hard yards. These days, I primarily base my research from BDM records, as well as using cemetery records to verify dates and names etc.

If I have commented or made a correction on a grave that is relevant to you, it is most likely because they are remotely linked to my own tree. I tend to go out sideways a LOT in order to confirm any facts that I find. I have also found that by linking family members together on FaG, it is much easier for future researchers to work out who belongs to whom.

My own research includes surnames such as FAULL, TEMBY, BROMLEY, RIGBY, WALTON, WONDER, GLASS, CAWOOD, SHIMMIN, ROGERS, LUBKE, LAW, SHANKS, BARTHOLOMEW. Many of my lot arrived from Cornwall, Isle of Man, Scotland, as well as a few from Prussia thrown in for good measure. I am yet to find a single convict in my direct tree - haha !!

I volunteer for a number of FaG cemeteries, taking photos and assisting other researchers where I can - if there is anything I can do to help a fellow researcher, please ask .. we were all beginners once, and some days I wonder if I will ever get the hang of things ancestry thing !

I live in regional Victoria, and would love to hear from anyone interested in the surnames that I have listed.
