I grew up in Lavaca, Arkansas and attended Lavaca Public Schools. I spent most of my weekends (as a child) at my grandparents Albert 'Dow' and Lela (Stamper) Martin
home located near Arbuckle Island. I remember riding with Grandpa to get a candy bar or popsicle at the old Island Store. I was also a member of Riverdale Freewill Baptist Church for many years. My husband and I were married there. I do remember that Decoration Day (weekend) at Island Cemetery was such a wonderful time for local families, friends and neighbors. It was a coming home for a lot of them who had moved away. Because of all my childhood memories of Arbuckle Island, I love researching my family's history and truly love finding a piece of the missing puzzle!
