Bio

I love history and am a lifelong learner. I enjoy meeting people and listening to their stories, reading stories about my ancestors and researching their journeys.
I believe that by researching our family trees we learn more about ourselves and what is deep within our family traits.
I've been active on Find a Grave for only a short while but I've been working on Ancestry for several years.
My family's sir names are Pitts, Lake, Jepson, Small, Mickelson,
Wellman, Walker and Vahlberg.
Some of my mother's ancestors came to America via the Mormon routes, with the matriarch being Anne Hossack who was born in 1822 in Balfron, Stirlingshire, Scotland. She, her husband and their children sailed on the SSJames Pennell from Liverpool to New Orleans, arriving in October 1849.
After residing in St. Louis, MO for some time (she gave birth to a son there) they travelled across the plains with Captain Wood's Company and arrived in Salt Lake City in September 1852.
Many years later, two of my great grandmothers came across the plains in their footsteps, to arrive in SLC, tired and hungry. Because I was curious, My Grandma (Boise, we called her) wrote letters to me when I was a young adult, describing the days and days of walking and so much more. I'm delighted to honor my ancestors by my work with Find a Grave and Ancestry.
