Bio

►Why I'm here
During the COVID-19 pandemic I began my genealogy journey, and discovered some fascinating ancestors along the way. There's a Revolutionary War patriot, a couple of US Representatives, judges and county clerks, Swiss and Irish immigrants, and lots of hard-working farmers. Now I've joined Find A Grave so I can help preserve their memory, but also help other people find their own loved ones.

►Non-family memorial transfers
I'm primarily interested in only managing my own direct family, filing photo requests for others and occassionally transcribing photos. If I happen to create a non-family memorial, I'll happily transfer it to whomever asks.

►For family members I manage
• 'Suggested Edits' Requirements:
Family anecdotes, etc may be cherished memories, but they could actually be 'tall tales'. Wouldn't it be sad to inadvertently perpetuate something incorrect about them? Imagine if that was done to you after your passing. To give them their best memorial, it needs to have verifiable details and evidence.

So, edits sent to me for consideration must include reliable, original source evidence citations for consideration before acceptance. Please use the 'Suggest other corrections' function to contact me so that we can collaborate.

• Bios Sections I intend to include where possible:
○ A transcription of a published obituary, since it's a written memorial and contains information the family wants to share publicly. General newspaper death notices are not the same and won't be transcribed. If no obituary is available, a brief factual life summary may be included.
○ A brief list of solidly-cited genealogical facts to establish and confirm their identity. The section is intended to be a lightweight framework and not an extensive genealogical history.
○ A footnotes section if any obituary statement, etc requires clarification.

►My family names include
Paternal: Green, Shrauner, Cagle, Carter, Lassiter (aka Lasater), James, Bain, Jones, Eledge, Bruner, Van De Bogart, Williamson, McClure, Freeland, Mellen, Bruce
Maternal: Worthen, Terrell, McCain, Hamilton, Oliphant, Vesey, Fowler, Thomas, Smith, Cooper, Staggs, Gilbert, Gregory, Twitty, Coker, Hall
