Bio

My name is Lori M. Cangelosi, my Birth Name is Sheila D. Casey. I am the birth child of Lois J. King, born 1939, died 1999. I have confirmed my relationship through information the the Los Angeles County of Adoptions, and through 23 and Me. I noticed some sibling names omitted on her find-a-grave page, but more importantly, I found an entry from 2021 from someone named Michael and wondered what his connection might be to Lois, or if he knew how I could get in touch with someone within Lois' circle of family and friends who may be open to speaking with me, about my pre-adoption history. I was born in Torrance, CA, on May 8, 1964, and my birth name was Sheila D. CASEY. There are birth records to show this in the CA Birth Index files. I am mostly interested in Health information. Lois had a sister Arelene(?) King, who is not listed on the "find-a-grave" page. Both she and Lois died at the age of 59 y.o. yet I do not of what cause. I turn 59 this year. In addition, I have not been able to find Any information regarding my birth father. I assume this is where I got the surname of Casey, when I was born. I lived with my b-parents for a short time before being put up for adoption in LA, California. I was adopted when I was 3 months old to Lovely parents who loved and cared for me as any birth mother could ever hope. I have been (casually) looking for Lois, since I was 15 yo, so I could personally thank her for that and to let her know "she made a good choice" in putting me up for adoption, in order to possibly give her heart and soul some peace. Unfortunately, I did not find her before her passing, however, it gave me a great deal of gratification to Have found her and to be able to put a name, a 'face,' and a location to this 'unknown entity' known as my BirthMother. I would simply like to know a little bit more about my family story, from around this time. I understand I have a ½ brother ŵhom was being raised by Bonnie King on and around the time of my birth, 1964. He, I believe was born in 1959 or 1960 and likely has no knowledge of me. So, anyone who reads this, and has the slides interest in contacting me, for Any reason, or to just tell me How you came across my bio, please don't hesitate to send me a brief email. I would love to connect. Maybe put Lois King in the subject line so I can't miss it! Thank you for taking the time to read this! Lori
