I'm a Kiwi that is grateful for all the voluntary work that I have made use of when researching families and their history.
Venturing out to old cemeteries to upload photos is my way of giving back. Wherever I go, I learn something new. It is also a unique way to 'meet' with people that have gone before us, and read their stories. Some volunteers have also uploaded fantastic snippets and little bio's about cemetery 'residents', which I enjoy reading.
I'll confess that I tend to favour the Photo Requests where the requester has included the reason for their interest. eg; Personal genealogy, family/friend connection, book research, or connecting dots to fulfill intrigue.
It can be quite time consuming tracking down particular grave sites, so understanding the requester's photo need 'feeds the ferret', so-to-speak.
Yes, I may offend - but it is absolutely not intentional.
