Bio

My mother was Dorothy Hutton, nee Holstein, [Mrs. Harris Hutton] of Caledonia Ontario. ☆ She helped Dr. G. Elmore Reaman of Waterloo to form and expand the Ontario Geneological Society in the 1960's and was on their Board of Directors as of 1964, and also a Charter Member of the Hamilton Branch of the OGS in the late 1960's and its President early on.
She would ruin my crayons by peeling them and rubbing all over a page of paper placed against an old tombstone so she could read the inscription. Some of those stones will be illegible now. She took me to so many local graveyards before I started school. After 60 years I am following in her footsteps. The graveyards are still there, and I am back. No genealogy expert, but I am an Ontario Scholar and possess a photographic memory and learn things rapidly.
My interest is mainly researching direct relatives, and local names I know in Haldimand County and within the adjacent area.
My special research focuses on the ghost town Indiana, Ontario, near Mount Healy, and the history of the Grand River Navigation Company.
☆ TRANSFER RULES: Willing to transfer management of a memorial if you are a descendant, and will transfer if not, when your reasons are golden.
