Born in Winchester, VA while my family was living on the Boom Rd in Berryville. All of my mother's family (Brown & Heflin) lived in the area. My father's family (Frick) was predominantly in the Charles Town, Martinsburg area. My mother, Hilda Frick is buried in Green Hill Cemetery near her parents, John W & Mary V Brown.

I am an Army veteran & a retired construction manager. I work as a volunteer with the National Park Service at Gettysburg National Military Park.

Because everyone from my parents' generation is gone as well as the majority of my 1st cousins I have only just recently been able to peel the onion of my family lineage. Your post gave me a good starting point.
