Bio

I recently discovered that I have many family members on my father's side of the family (Anderson) that I never met or knew about. Most are/were from North Carolina. I found an old obituary in a box of old photos for Polly Elizabeth Goforth Anderson. Based on the obituary I found, and searching "Find A Grave" my Grandfather, William McKinley "Mack" Anderson was the son of Polly Elizabeth Goforth Anderson & James Baxter Anderson of Madison Co, NC. (Both are buried in the Anderson Cemetery on Walker Branch Rd., Madison, NC) I never met my Great Grandparents or any other family members on the Anderson side of the family. As a child and young teenager we would visit NC often but I only met and knew relatives on my grandmothers side of the family. Her name was Ethel "Payne" Anderson. I never thought to ask why we never visited or met relatives on my grandfathers side of the family. My father, William Verlin "Bill" Anderson was an only child and I guess I just thought my Papaw Anderson was an only child. According to the obituary, my father had many aunts, uncles, cousins and my grandfather had many siblings, nieces, nephews & an extensive family...many buried in the Anderson Cemetery. I am hoping to learn more about the Anderson side of my family.
