Dr. Benjamin Franklin Williams,the son of Butler Williams (1799-1854) and Sarah G. Pouncey Williams Black(1809-1876). Graduated in 1854 from Augusta Med. College in Augusta, Al. and married on 18 Dec. 1850 Teresa C. Haden and they had 6 children, In the Civil War he served as a medic in the Confederate Cavalry in 1st Regiment of Alabama. On 15 July 1867 at the close of the war he moved moved from Montgomery, Ala. to Morris County, Texas and the wagon journey took 7 days and arriving at the home of his wife's sister 4 miles from Jefferson, Marion County, Texas on a Saturday. He was Summit, Upshur Co., Texas postmaster in 1884 and after the marriage of his first wife married Sarah Adaline Bingham on 15 April 1879 and they had 3 more children.
