Also known as Potter's Field, it is located on County property behind the Santa Barbara County Education Office at 4400 Cathedral Oaks Rd. Burials are from 1892 to 1904. Over a hundred years ago, the graves were located adjacent to the County Hospital,which was then located on South Salinas Street near Cacique Street in Santa Barbara. In 1917 the land was sold and the cemetery moved to the northeast corner of the new hospital property. The remains were encased in 2x2x2 ft. redwood boxes at the time of transfer.
