St. Nicholas was (not probably as stated in your description) from a wealthy Greek family. His uncle was a bishop and raised St. Nicholas because his parents died at a young age. The western part of what is now "Turkey" was Greek with Greek traditions and culture. Why don't you mention this in his memorial??
