Three Rivers Cemetery

Betsey (correct spelling) Fitch was born 11/21/1840 in Jackson, Michigan. She married Norman B. Clark 08/17/1858. During the Civil War, Norman served with the 20th Wisconsin Infantry and died 12/27/1862 of wounds received in battle. George Alonzo Purdy was born 04/18/1834 in Poughkeepsie, New York. He married Julia Lucinda Hurd 12/25/1858. While George was serving in Missouri, he learned Julia and the younger of their two daughters died 02/1863 of typhoid. After the war, Betsey (with a six year old daughter) and George (with a six year old daughter) married 03/05/1866. They eventually settled in Kaweah and had six more children. George died 09/26/1916. Betsey died 01/31/1928. One of their sons, George William Purdy, born 01/09/1878 is buried with his wife and their child.
