Uberstine-Meltzer Family

The Uberstine-Meltzer Family originated in Northeastern Ohio, with roots in Belarus (Gorodok and Volozhyn in the Vilna Guberniya region of late 19th Century Russia). The records include the children of Etty (Meltzer) and Harris Uberstine, their ancestors, if they are known, their siblings, their children and spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren -- when I have been able to identify their resting places. Harris and Etty emigrated from Belaurs in 1888 and made their home in Canton, Ohio and then in the 1920s, Cleveland, Ohio. Siblings of Etty also located in Eastern Ohio: Steubenville, Akron, and Cleveland. Harris' siblings immigrated to New York and New Jersey. Unfortunately Etty and Harris' children lost touch with their cousins (though many of them are included). Nonetheless, with 11 siblings, 2 boys and 9 girls, all of whom had close relationships with one another, it was a beautiful extended family in which to mature. This compilation is offered in their loving memory.
