1. Jonathan Goodman (1931-2008)[My mentor in terms of writing and publishing - and a very good friend and influence. There was a time I would be taking long distance calls twice a month from him lasting forty minutes or so regarding research problems or historical matters in his books or on what I wrote. He grew close not only to me but also my mother (whom he dedicated a book to) and my sister and her family, and several fmmily friends. He too is sorely missed.]
