James W. Thomas was the son of the late Joseph and Annie Thomas who passed in 1940. James was born June 18th, 1917 in Tellico Plains, TN. He was to married Carolyn Sue Lauffer Feb.28, 1948 in Chatsworth Georgia for 7-8 years. He had 3 sisters, Thelma Coppinger, Marie Ferguson and Mary Wilson. James bravely joined the Marines 2 weeks after Pearl Harbor was attacked. He was part of the Marine's Pioneer Division, WWII Pacific Theater. He went to New Zealand,Solomon I.,Australia, Goodenough I.,New Guinea,Cape Gloucester,Russell I.,and Peleliu. He is survived by his 3 children.
