The page regarding the burial of Mary [Willey] Tubbs is inaccurate as she lived in Close Cove, north of New London, CT where she lived and died. She returned to the family homestead after her husband's death and remained there until 1734 when it was sold by her grandson Samuel Beebe Sr. It most likely was her thirds dower rights from Samuel's estate. It is doubtful if her remains were taken to East Haddam from New London to be interred next to her husband. She was most likely interred in a cemetery nearby her home in Close Cove. The cost of transporting a coffin from New London to East Haddam by wagon would be prohibitive.
