From the Indian-Pioneer History Project for Oklahoma Records.Confirmed by Lawrence Williams on August 9, 1932.Founded in 1789 by Simon Woods and abandoned early 1900s for unknown reasons. Original owner of land was Steve Woods, deceased. There were approximately 30 graves but only 20 marked. Condition of markers in 1932 were very good. Lawrence A Williams remarks on condition of premises was that you had to cut a path through underbrush to get to location. Legal location was listed as Leflore county, Section 32, Township 3, Range 23
