Funeral Services for Mr. Glenn J McKinney, 67, Aspen Court, Talatha Community, Aiken, SC, who entered into rest February 27, 2012, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Green Pond Baptist Church. Dr. Roy Morgan officiating. Interment in the Church Cemetery.Mr. McKinney was a native of Alta Pass, North Carolina, a former resident of Jackson, having made the Talatha Community his for the past 46 years. He was a member of Green Pond Baptist Church for more than 40 years where he served as a Deacon. Trustee and former Training Union Director. Mr. McKinney was a graduate of the Jackson High School, a retired member of the Local 150 Plumbers and Union, retired from the Savannah River Site with more than 40 years of service in the Construction and Operations Divisions an former member of the Silver Bluff Athletic Boosters Club and a former Little League Baseball Coach for the New Ellenton Youth Sports "Daddy" and "Pappa" , as he was lovingly known will be greatly missed.Mr. McKinney was predeceased by his parents, William Glenn and Augusta Biddix McKinney, two sisters, Yolanda Christian and Beverly Johnson, a brother, Lawrence "DeDe" McKinney and two grandson, Jordan Glenn Yarbrough and Jaret Thomas Yarbrough.Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Donna Marie Widener McKinney; two daughters and their husbands Kin and Kenny Chriswell, Graniteville and Robin and Kurt Yarbrough, Aiken; three grand, Jacob Yarbrough. Tara Chriswell and Chase Chriswell; a brother, Russell McKinney, Jackson; a sister Catherine Carroll, Cumming, GA.Pallbearers will be Bobby Young, David Maxwell, Foy McDaniel, Chuck Hill, Jimmy Yarbrough, Larry Liles and Jerry Webb.The family will receive friends at the funeral home the Wednesday evening from 6 until 8.Memorials may be made to Green Pond Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 91, Jackson SC 29831.Posey Funeral Directors of North Augusta in charge of arrangements (803-278-1181)
