Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder of the Nervous system there are 2 main types, NF1 is as a result of a defect on Chromosome 17, resulting in a lack of a protein called Neurofibromin. NF2 is as a result of a defect on Chromosome 22, resulting on a lack of a protein called Merlin. both Neurofibromin and Merlin are Tumor supressors. there is no cure for either form of Neurofibromatosis and both forms have claimed many lives over the years.
