A Virtual Cemetery created by Rick Nelson

avet_WorldWarII_Braceville

Only a few WWII veterans are here of 167; with emphasis on those who were Killed in Action or died in service from Braceville, linking family members and photos. Eight men are named on the Lost-in-Service memorial (only 2nd Lt. William H. Weaver is not located; he died in Italy, body returned to US in 1948; see his father David Weaver for now). A Ninth man was buried here (in 1950 after the Memorial was erected; Sgt. Jesse Moore; who enlisted in Cortland (parents buried here). Parents of two sons that were MIA or buried in France are also here: Sgt. Ralph Neumeister buried in Normandy; named on Howland Township cemetery WWII memorial; and one named on a MIA memorial in Rhone, France (Robert Wolcott, Lordstown HS valedictorian). There are about 167 WWII veterans buried in Braceville cemetery (all have Find A Grave records as of Sept 23, 2017). Armstrong served 30-years in two wars and is among the WWI veterans already (cannot be in both virtual cemeteries). It is doubtful that all 167 will be added to a "virtual cemetery" any time soon due to complexity. Perhaps limited to a few that were wounded, POWs, or received medals like the Bronze Star, Special Interest, etc.). Two WWII veterans, living in Braceville, are known to survive in 2017; they will be buried here (may they live and prosper), because their names are etched beside their spouses, who have preceded them into eternal rest.
