1883 SINKING OF THE VESSEL G.J. JONES

The Vessell G.I. Jones (or G.J. Jones) owned by the Jones Brothers & Company was registered in Newport, Monmouthshire, Scotland. It sailed from Falmouth Scotland and journeyed to Bull River, California and picked up phosphate and transported it back towards the United Kingdom. The vessel was hit by a SSW Gale and it was driven ashore at Stackhouse Cove, Cornwall, England where the vessel was totally wrecked.
