The St Chad's New Burial Ground is otherwise known as the Disused Burial Ground Drake Street. The burial ground was opened in 1813 and closed in 1855, although owners of family graves were permitted to re-open them for a period of time thereafter. The burial ground has been grassed over and is now a public park. Most of the headstones have been removed, although some have been re-erected against the enclosing walls, and others have been used to make pathways through the park.
