This graveyard was used from the 18th until the early 20th century by followers of the evangelical religious sect founded in Ireland by John Cennick, who came to Dublin in 1746. Therefore, this graveyard forms part of the religious and social history of Dublin and its minority religious groups. It preserves a planned landscape and the distinctive grave markers, and provides an interesting contrast to more usual Victorian ideas of garden cemeteries. Axial path within, with flat, square stone grave markers arranged in rows to either side. Tre is an avenue of cherry trees flanking the pathway.
The earliest burial in this cemetery was that of Minister John Teltchig (1703 - 1764). There are more than 700 stones in the cemetery, each of which measures about 12 by 18 inches, with males buried on one side and females buried on the other side.
