The couple buried there were both deceased within the 5-year period after March 1781 (when Cornwallis and his troops foraged their farm) and before 10 Feb 1786 (when their two orphaned sons were bound over by NC P&Q Court). When the family lived on their farm it was located in Ramsay's Mill area of southeastern Chatham County NC near Ramsey's Tavern. The area is now unincorporated Lockville NC near Moncure NC. For more specific information on the roads in the area at the time of the American Revolution when this couple lived there, see . There is a photo of the Tavern and a detailed description on where the Colonial road was located in relation to US Hwy 1 now and Deep River. Their son's family cemetery is also located in Chatham County and can been located as Benjamin Franklin Johnson Family Cemetery. It is on land he owned and acquired after his years of apprenticeship were completed.
