[Robin Bea's other married names were Kuhn, Williams, Alter, Batsch and Gagnon. Although Hendricks was the last name of her third (of six) husbands, she chose to go by it after that marriage dissolved, and through three more.]
Robin Bea was born in Indianapolis, and adopted at the age of two days by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Clements, of Wellington, Illinois. Her birth name was Baby Girl Johnson. She went to school in Wellington, and was taught piano at home, by her mother, a music teacher.
Robin married the first time at 15, to James Kuhn. They had a daughter, Layla Renee. This marriage ended in divorce. She married George Williams. They had a daughter, Angela Sue. This marriage ended in divorce. She married Jack Hendricks. They had a daughter, Sonya Dee. This marriage ended in divorce. She married Wayne Alter. This marriage ended in divorce. She married David Batsch, with whom she had previously had a son, Derik. This marriage ended in divorce. She married James Gagnon, who survived her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ione and Carl Clements, and by her daughter Sonya. She is survived by her husband James, her children Layla, Angela, and Derik, and by six grandchildren.
While she traveled extensively in the United States with her husband James Gagnon, who was a truck driver, she only lived in Illinois and Florida during her lifetime. Her principal occupation was working as a caregiver in nursing homes, as it filled her need to be of help to people. She left work and devoted ten years to caring for her mother at home, when Mrs. Clements became bedridden.
All her life she loved playing the piano, and she lived with the sound of trains. The Illinois Central Railroad tracks run right across the street from the house in which she lived most of her life. She told me how much she liked that sound.
Robin was a lover of animals, and had a natural ability to train them. In the current parlance, she was an "animal whisperer". Her formal schooling was limited, but Robin was very bright and caring. She had a good heart. Her life was too short, and too hard. Robin was the closest thing to a sister that I ever had. May she rest in peace.
