Civil War Service - He enlisted Oct 15 1861 age 23; He mustered as a Private in Batty I, Ohio 1st I Light Art Bridade on 03 Dec 1861 at Camp Dennison, Ohio. He was promoted to Full Corporal on 08 Mar 1862. He was wounded Jul 4 1864 during the battle of Vining Station, GA. He was mustered out on 04 Nov 1864 at Columbus, Ohio at the end of his enlistment. Service in the 12th Indpendent Lt Art. Battery is mentioned on his pension record.

He married Eliza C Prentiss on Jun 11 1865 in Portage County, Ohio.
In 1870 he was a Miller, living in Ravenna with a domestic servant included in the family.
On May 23 1873 he filed for and was granded an invalid's pension - cert # 124616
In 1880 he was a farmer.
