Was born August 28, 1845 in Dover, Screven County, Georgia.
He enlisted September 1863 at Isle of Hope, Georgia, 5th Georgia Cavalry from either Effingham or Screven County, Georgia.;
About Feb 11th or 12th, 1865, he was shot in the hip while on guard duty at Camp Davant, South Carolina.
On account of this wound, he was not able to walk until a year after the surrender.
Regiment surrendered and discharged 26 Apr 1865 near Greensboro North Carolina
He owned 410 acres in Bulloch County which he gave to his children around 1902.
He applied for and received a pension of $25 per month on 23 Jul 1906.
