This was my Grandfather, he was born in Norway to Ragnild Endresdatter and Ole Iverson, so his last name became Olsen/Olson. Ole never married Ragnild. In 1883 he emigrated to America with his Mother Ragnild and her brother, Iver Endresen. In 1885 his Mother, Ragnild married Halvor (Aadahlen) Olson (Sr.)of El Paso, Pierce Co., Wisconsin. Thus Halvor became his stepfather. Ragnild and Halvor had several children together who then became half siblings to Knute. Most of his life he was a lumberjack and laborer. Sadly, he had to be committed to Fergus Falls State Hospital 2 Oct 1936 and died there suddenly on 1 May 1937. It was told to me that he was pushing a broom that day and just dropped over dead. According to his death certificate and burial records he was buried on the grounds of the State Hospital 5 May 1937. He was married to Pauline Blake and they had these known children: Emma, Pearl, Charles (my Father), Palmer, Chester(died in infancy), Raymond and Knute aka Kenneth.
