At the time of his death he was survived by six children from his first wife Rhoda: Delia (Mrs. Lovell) Neal, of Wallingford; Antoinette (Mrs. George) Johnson, of Cheshire; Sarah A. (Mrs. J.C.) Underhill, of Meriden; Willis, Linus and Royal Norton, and also two children by his second wife Elizabeth Booth Norton: Birdsey B. and Ruth Norton.
Because of his divorce from his second wife, the deposition of his large estate was contested after his demise.
