O.V. Hollis, 94, of Wapakoneta, died 8:34 p.m., Wed. Aug. 12, 2015, at his home with his family at his side. He was born March 21, 1921, in St. Clair Co., AL, the son of L.G. & Ada (Howard) Hollis. On July 26, 1943, he married Ann Z. Isbell, and she died June 25, 1981. Then on Oct. 1, 1983, he married Edith Daniels Setser, and she died Oct. 21, 2002.
Survivors include,
3 children, L.V. (Shirley) Hollis,
Judith (Michael) Gross, both of Wapakoneta,
and Sheila (Steve) Centers, Daphne, AL,
2 step-children, Julie (Barney) Harrod, Wapakoneta,
Dan Setser, AZ, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren,
several step-grandchildren & step-great grandchildren,
a brother, W.V. (Betty) Hollis, Pell City, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-son Eddie Setser, a brother, and 4 sisters.
O.V. retired from the Lima News in 1986 as a machinist. He attended the Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene. A U.S. Army veteran, O.V. served during W.W. II and was a life
member of the Wapakoneta V.F.W., Post #8445. He enjoyed making 3-D puzzles.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sat. Aug. 15, 2015, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home
and Cremation Services, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Steven Ambrose officiating. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m., Sat. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the
