STRATFORD - Otto A. Gust Sr., 93, Route 2, Stratford, Town of Cleveland, died at 2:34 p.m. Sunday at his home. He had been in ill health the past six months. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer United Church of Christ. The Rev. Kenneth V. Chadbourn, of Stratford Community Bible Church, will officiate. Margaret Brubaker will be the organist for congregational singing. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Ebenezer United Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday and again on Wednesday until 9 a.m. at SauterKundinger Funeral Home, Stratford, then from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the church. Mr. Gust was born July 23, 1892 in the Town of Cleveland, to August and Augusta (Teschner) Gust. He attended Balsam School in the Town of Cleveland, Marathon County. He married Johanna C. Hagen Jan. 15, 1919 at Ebenezer United Church of Christ. She died Nov. 19, 1984. He was engaged in farming in the Town of Cleveland prior to and after his marriage, retiring in 1957. After retiring, he resided with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Katzer. It was in that home where he was born, lived and died. Mr. Gust was a member of Ebenenzer United Church of Christ, Stratford Senior Citizens and Ebenezer Cemetery Board. Surviving are three sons, William, Wausau, Walter, Richland Center, and Otto Gust Jr., Edgar; six daughters, Goldie Stick, Homewood, III., Mrs. Lawrence (Marjorie) Toelle and Mrs. Alvin (Helen) Kratzer, Stratford, Joyce Engel, Marshfield, Mrs. Gordon (Phyllis) Knutson, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Paul (Edith) Achee', Phoenix, Ariz.; 39 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by one son, Edmund, who died in 1955; three grandsons; and one sister.
