Accident Victims
The crushing impact of a
head-on auto collision snuffed
out two lives Wednesday and
seriously injured a third per-
son involved in the crash on
Highways 13-73, six miles west
of Wisconsin Rapids.
Killed instantly was the Rev.
Peter J. Ohlin, 65, who recently
took over the pastorate of the
East Nekoosa Assembly of God
Church.
Edmund A. Gust, 34, 501 E.
Daly Ave., died at Riverview
Hospital at 10:45 p.m. from in-
juries received in the accident
seven hours earlier.
Girl Is Injured
Seriously injured was Miss
Eva L. Gallagher, 17, Rt. 2, Ne-
koosa, daughter of Mrs. Glen
Roberts....
Miss Gallagher, an employe at
the Bethel Convalescent Home in
Arpin, was being returned to her
home by the Rev. Mr. Ohlin when
the crash occurred....
GUST RITES
Funeral services for Mr. Gust
have been arranged for 2:30 Sat-
urday afternoon at St. Luke's
Lutheran Church with the Rev.
L. F. Schneider officiating. Inter-
ment will follow in Forest Hill
Cemetery.
Fieldman for the Dairy Herd
Improvement Assn., Mr. Gust had
his office and laboratory in the
Wood County Extension office.
He was born at Stratford on
March 9, 1921, and came to Wis-
consin Rapids in 1946 after serv-
ing four years in World War II,
seeing action in the South Pacific
theater. On Aug. 21, 1946, he
married Gertrude Schroedel in
the town of Sigel.
Surviving are his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Otto Gust, Stratford;
his wife; two daughters, Marilyn
and Juliann; two sons, Edmund
Jr. and Jon; three brothers, Wil-
liam, Wausau; Junior, Edgar,
Wis., and Walter, Stratford, and
six sisters, Mrs. John Stick and
Mrs. John Wagner, Chicago; Mrs.
Lawrence Toelle, Mrs. Fred
Engel and Miss Helen Gust,
Stratford, and Mrs. Gordon Knut-
son, Lake Worth, Fla.
He was a member of St. Luke's
Church and its Men's Club.
Friends may pay their respects
at the Taylor Funeral Home from
7 o'clock Friday evening until
noon Saturday and at the church
from 1 o'clock until time of services.
