David E. Houk, 69, former Albany and Daleville resident, died enroute to Whitley County Hospital, North Webster, Thursday after becoming ill at his home. He moved to North Webster eight years ago.
He was born in Winchester and was employed at Commercial Motor Freight, Daleville, until retiring. He was a member of Teamsters Local No. 135.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel; a daughter, Mrs. John Gibson, Muncie; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert Vest and Mrs. Donald York, Muncie; two stepsons, Ray and Fay Hale, Parker; a brother, Everett, Castro Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. May Wickersham, Richmond, and Mrs. Nancy Baird, Dayton, Ohio; 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Services will be there at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Jack Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie.
