He was born in Winchester and was employed at Commercial Motor Freight, Daleville, until retiring. He was a member of Teamsters Local No. 135.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel; a daughter, Mrs. John Gibson, Muncie; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert Vest and Mrs. Donald York, Muncie; two stepsons, Ray and Fay Hale, Parker; a brother, Everett, Castro Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. May Wickersham, Richmond, and Mrs. Nancy Baird, Dayton, Ohio; 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Services will be there at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Jack Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie.
