Edward Langworthy, farmer, Sec 25, Green Twp, b. Saratoga Co, NY, 5 Mar 1825. His parents El isha & Elizabeth (Guile) Langworthy, natives of Columbia Co, NY. The father was a mechanic a nd followed his occupation until 1843 when he came to MI & located 80 acres of land in Lapee r Co where he farmed until death (Apr 25, 1845); mother died 04 Mar 1874, Grant Twp, Mecost a Co. Mr. Langworthy was 17 years old when he accompanied his parents to MI. ....120 acre s in Lapeer Co where he resided about 25 years. He sold and went to Genesee Co & settled nea r Flint. Six years after in Spring of 1875, ...80 acres in Green Twp, Mecosta Co. He wa s a J.P. in 1877.... Married 25 Dec 1865 to Maria Perkins, a native of Canada, b. 31 Jan 18 20. They have 6 children: Willard E., Albert H, Harvey J., Minerva, Susan & Ophelia, Amand a & Charles, one dec. Parents member of M.E. Church, Big Rapids.
