From the Courthouse on Elk Avenue in Elizabethton, take US-19E South / US-321 South for 0.3 miles and turn left on Riverview Drive / Siam Road. Go another 0.3 miles and turn left to stay on Siam Road (Route 2376). Drive carefully as Siam Road is a winding two lane road. Go about 3.5 miles until you see a small sign on the left that says "Nave Cemetery." On the right at the Nave Cemetery sign is a house numbered 2373 Siam Road. The cemetery sign marks a gravel road on the left that goes up a hill to the cemetery. If you reach the Siam Baptist Church you have gone too far on Siam Road. Turn around and go back.
Teter Nave is the Patriarch of the Nave family in Carter County. He and many other Naves who lived in the nineteenth century are buried in the Nave-Hess Cemetery behind 180 Wilbur Dam Road, not far from this cemetery. The Nave-Hess cemetery is presently under restoration, but has been subject to neglect and abuse for many years. Nevertheless, a large number of Teter's descendants who died in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries are buried in the Nave Cemetery near Siam Baptist Church. The latter cemetery is presently well cared for as of 2015.
