La fábrica barroca del siglo XVIII ha sido objeto de importantes intervenciones a lo largo de los siglos XIX y XX. Su ubicación junto a una de las puertas de la muralla, le ocasionó graves daños durante la guerra de la Independencia.
En 1908 se inaugura en su interior la Mausoleo de las Heroínas de Zaragoza, en honor a las mujeres que lucharon con valentía en los Sitios: Agustina de Aragón, Casta Álvarez y Manuela Sancho. El día 5 de febrero, festividad de Santa Águeda, las mujeres zaragozanas acuden con gran fervor a esta iglesia para venerar las reliquias de la mártir que se guardan en su interior.

Our Lady of the Portillo Church
Its origin dates back to the time of the Reconquest, linked to a miraculous intervention by the Virgin who saved the city from a Muslim attack in 1137. The 18th century baroque factory has been the subject of important interventions throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Its location next to one of the gates of the wall, caused serious damage during the War of Independence.
In 1908, the Heroines of Zaragoza Mausoleum was inaugurated inside, in honor of the women who fought bravely in the Sieges: Agustina de Aragón, Casta Álvarez and Manuela Sancho. On February 5, the feast of Santa Águeda, the women of Zaragoza flock to this church with great fervor to venerate the relics of the martyr that are kept inside.
