The Garrison Cemetery is legally distinct but contiguous, and immediately to the north of the John Dalton Martin Memorial Cemetery. When the Martin family sold the farm, the Martin Cemetery continued in the Martin family posession and was originally fully enclosed with a fence. The Garrison family buried one of their own just outside and to the the immediate direct north of the Martin Cemetery, thus beginning the Garrison Cemetery. The Garrison family began mowing both cemeteries, and eventually removed the portion of the Martin Cemetery fence delineating northern boundary of the Martin Cemetery, and then encircled both the Garrison and Martin Cemeteries inside of one fence. Nevertheless, they are two distinct cemeteries owned by two distinst families and for this reason are entered in here individually, though they are in full proximaty.
