"[...] The oldest stone records the death of John Milliman, who came to the area from Rhode Island early in the 19th century. Buried beside him or scattered behind him in the pine forest are the bodies of his wife Hannah, died 1819; his son John, died in September, 1828 and his wife Elizabeth, who died several weeks later, also in September of 1828. Polly Milliman, wife of Isaac, a brother to the senior John, is also buried there, died April 24, 1811. Nearby is her daughter Delana, died September, 1809. The seventh grave is that of Elizabeth Cornewell, died September, 1824. [...]
"The cemetery is known by a relative few people, mostly hunters and others who hike in the woods, [Historian Mabel] Hewitt said. Considering that contemporary accounts indicate John Milliman was a member of the Albany militia, 'a great influence in his community and of high character,' it is sobering to see the cemetery now, overgrown and all but disappeared."
