Originally a rectangular nave, a narrower chancel and a square tower, in 1687 the "laird's loft" was added. In approx. 1808, the north aisle was added, the roof raised, and the old chancel widened and galleries inserted.
Under the care of Historic Scotland, the church is now home to the Dupplin Cross which commemorates the Pictish King Constantine, dating from circa AD 800.
