In 1881-82 a thorough restoration took place to give us the church we see today, but most of the former features were obliterated. It was then the gallery at the west end of the church was removed.
There is a list of the clergy incumbent at St Peters in the church, however several of these especially during the 18th and 19th centuries did not reside in the village, and held other livings with curates serving on behalf of the non-resident vicar.
