Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery recorded its first burial in 1891 after being established in 1890.

The parish was founded on a French farmstead in 1884 and was named Notre Dame du Lac. After fire destroyed the former church, the new church erected in 1907 was renamed Our Lady of the Rosary, though many still referred to it as Our Lady of the Lake. The church was the main Roman Catholic church in Ford City and was home to predominantly French-Canadian parishioners. The Our Lady of the Rosary parish remained active until 2007, when it's doors closed due to a lack of parishioners and a hefty upkeep value. Today, Our Lady of the Rosary no longer serves as a church and is now the Water's Edge Event Centre.
