Dennyloanhead was formed as an antiburgher congregation of the Associate Synod in 1747 and went into the United Presbyterian Church in 1820, the United Presbyterian Church in 1847 and then the United Free Church of Scotland in 1900 and the Church of Scotland in 1929. It was linked with High Bonnybridge St Helen's on 1 May 1963. The linkage terminated on 7 July 1978 and it was instead linked with Haggs on 25 July 1978. The linkage with Haggs was terminated on 28 June 1991 and congregation dissolved on 1 Sep 1991.
The church closed in the 1990's and was later converted to a furniture showroom. The heavy stone plaque listing the four servicemen killed in World War two has been moved to the to a patch of land to the south of the Church by the roundabout. It bears the names: James Coulter, Hamish Fraser, Dan Faulds and William Stewart.
The cemetery no longer exists, but the surviving gravestones have been re-positioned along the North boundary wall of the ex-churchyard. The remaining churchyard has been converted to a small car park.
