According to the History of Trumbull and Mahoning Counties, the Old Brunstetter Cemetery, referred then simply as the Brunstetter Cemetery, was the oldest cemetery in Austintown and was laid out as early as 1823. The first burial made there was the body of John Doane, a grandson of Robert Russell. The second burial is purported to be that of William Truesdale, probably in 1823. The next year twenty-two children died from dysentery in less than two weeks. All are buried in this cemetery. Special recognition should go to members of the Mahoning County Genealogical Society and individual members who helped produce "Austintown Township Cemetery and Death Records, Mahoning County, Ohio."
