Additional information
Located in the historic heart of the town of The Pas / Le Pas.
Burial records can be consulted by reaching out to the Parish Secretary or the Diocesan Archivist.
NOTE: There are a very limited number of burials known to have occurred in the crypt of the cathedral itself while most burials were performed in the parish cemetery (Riverside Roman Catholic Cemetery) located a short distance away on native lands.
There is some confusion about this and, as a result, some memorials on this service may not be associated with the correct location

Add PhotosThe Our Lady Of the Sacred Cathedral was built in 1922 and inaugurated on September 13 of that year. It was the centre of Bishop Charlebois' Keewatin-Le Pas diocese which stretched from northern Saskatchewan to northern Ontario. Before this cathedral's construction, Charlebois had a small log chapel built in 1897 that served as the first Roman Catholic church in Northern Manitoba. Today, that small structure is a designated heritage building and stands immediately west of the Cathedral building.

NOTE: The Cathedral contains a crypt, which is the site of a very limited number of burials.
Dominion Land Survey coordinates: LSD05-14-56-26-W1
Located in the centre of the Town of The Pas
As noted above, a part of the town's story and those of its inhabitants from the early days of European settlement through roughly 2011 is told in the volume "The Pas - Gateway to Northern Manitoba" and the related volume entitled "The Pas - 100 Years".
Free digital versions of these and many other Manitoba local history books can be found online in the University of Manitoba Digital Collections. There is also a list of such books organized by district and town name on the Manitoba Historical Society's website on their page entitled "Finding Aid: Manitoba Local History Books".
