Gary is the only child of Merwin Whitcomb Page and Hattie Bertha (Krause) Page. Gary married Janet Elizabeth Jackson on August 18, 1956 at the First Congregational Church in Muskegon, MI. They have 3 children: Kimberly, Tamara and James.
Gary graduated from Muskegon Community College and Muskegon School of Business at Ferris State College with a BA degree in Accounting. He was an accountant and senior administrator for GMC Truck and Coach Division in Pontiac, MI. Gary loved golfing, boating and fishing.
He served as a Corporal in the US Army and served with an anti-aircraft artillery division from 1953 to 1955, doing a tour in Osan, South Korea.
Gary died of brain cancer at his home in White Lake, MI.
