Professional Football Player. For seven seasons (1960 to 1966), he played in the American Football League with the New York Titans and Boston Patriots. Born Richard George Felt, he attended Lehi High School in Utah and played collegiate football at Brigham Young University. While with the Cougars, he established himself as a standout player and set a school record, when he recorded four touchdowns in one quarter during a contest against San Jose State on November 8th, 1952. Following graduation, he served with the United States Air Force and at age 27 in 1960, he signed with the New York Titans of the newly-formed American Football League. He appeared in 80 regular season games and distinguished himself, as he earned All-Star honors in 1961 and 1962. After retiring as a player, Felt returned to BYU and served as a longtime assistant coach. He is a member of both the BYU and Utah State Sports Hall of Fame.
