Duane was a veteran of the United States Army. After which he married Pauline Perry and they moved to Oregon where they lived and worked for many years. Duane worked for over 30 years at the Hannah Nickel Mine. He was an intelligent problem solver and had a very gifted mind that served him well during his years of work as a millwright. Duane was a very hard working man and was always willing and ready to lend a helping hand. He was a wonderful family man who loved his family dearly.
Duane is preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Michael Hendrix; and three brothers, Rudolph, Linvle and R.D. Hendrix.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Pauline (Perry) Hendrix of the home; three sons, Michael Hendrix and wife Sheri of Kwajlein, Marshall Islands, David Hendrix and wife Debbie of Kilgore, Texas and Terry Hendrix and wife Marisa of Boise, Idaho; ten grandchildren, Shannon, Matthew, Emily, Callie, Shawn, Trent, DeAnna, Malia and Kalyn Hendrix; four great-grandchildren, Ellie and Jack Knight, Michael and Allie Hendrix; one sister, Anna Mae Horton and husband Johnny of Snowball; one brother, Laverne Hendrix and wife Emma of Canyonville, Oregon; and many nieces, nephews and other family members who will also mourn his passing.
Arrangements are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas.
Graveside services for Duane Hendrix will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 7, 2012 at Marshall Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hendrix, David Hendrix, Terry Hendrix, Johnny Horton, Lyndon Hendrix and Johnathan Horton.
